June 6: New project: find 1 thing each day to rejoice in. Today, patient bought us all a coffee at work. Mmm, vanilla latte.
June 7: Got some fan-girl love from a new Twitter friend. How's that for happy news?
June 8: Day Three: My dog. Whose love is unconditional, and whose joy knows no bounds (except when it's hot, like today).
June 9: Day 4: Today a spider showed me if you work hard enough, even the big wide world gives you gifts:
June 10: Day 5: Visited by an 11-week-old puppy today. Ran around on the lawn and took cute photos. What's not to be happy about?
June 11: Day Six: reading "Practical Jean" on the comfy porch couch, while sun shone & breeze blew. Wonderful, all round.
Junw 12: Blog love. And virtual hugs from some friends and fellow writers. How lucky am I?
June 13: Also: watching a deer creep across the back field while the game played in the background. Magic.
June 14: An old fave movie, suddenly on TV. Dennis Quaid (love him). Jim Caviezel (also love him). Sentimental tearfest. Lovely.
June 15: Hard to find something to rejoice over now. But: I'm humbled by & love how much this game brings this country together.
June 16: Back! And I wrote TWO THOUSAND WORDS! IN ONE HOUR! "Freedom", you might be the best thing that's happened to me in ages.
June 17: Stumbled on the text to "Go the F*&k to Sleep" today. Tee hee. #365daysofrejoicing
June 18: Tasting the sweetness of clover blossoms for the very first time.
June 19: My dad, who can make me laugh even when we're in wild disagreement. Happy Father's Day!
June 20: Inspiration that hits you in the middle of the day, dark and lonely and wanting.
June 21: Rejoicing tonight in the fact that I ate too much for dinner. I remember all too well what it's like to not have enough.
June 22: Waking up with the alarm today, & then being able to turn it off & go back to sleep. Ahead: a day of writing.
June 23: Cracking open the pages of "Annabel" & getting swept away into 's incandescent prose.
June 24: Belated : words from a new acquaintance re: the blog. "It's beautiful. I really feel I've gotten to know you." Thank you!
June 25: Day 20: My mum and I, belting it out to Lady Gaga &Co. on our way to the movies.
June 26: Dancing to "Hard Line" by , over & over, with joy running through my veins like sunshine.
June 27: In Scotland in just over a week! Today: rejoiced about upcoming trips, and planted the seeds of a trip to Mull & Iona.
June 28: A surprise Skype chat with dear Edinburgh friends who are set to get married in just over a week. Such wonderful people.
June 29: An angry writer stakes her claim, and skeptics be damned:  
June 30: Some days it's nice to remember how far I've come. A year ago: hungry & penniless. Today: well-fed & poor. Small steps!
July 1: Day 26: More music-inspired happiness. "My Body", by , is an unbelievably good song.
July 2: Tickling the ivories, and loving the sound. So glad that I bullied my parents into piano lessons all those years ago.
July 3: Happy for a comfy place to sleep tonight, because there have been plenty of times when comfortable was hard to come by.
July 4: David Sedaris and giggles on a warm, sun-drenched porch. #365daysofrejoicing
July 5: Approved for my Kickstarter project! It may or may not pan out, but that email was a lovely bit of joy today.  
July 6: Is there anything finer than street meat on a summer day in Toronto? #365daysofrejoicing
July 7, 8, 9: The wedding, and other incandescent joys.
July 10: Amanda: "I don't want to impinge on family time. I'll go out." R: "But you ARE family." *Smile*  
July 11: Maple syrup & homemade pancakes & a glorious evening spent laughing with newfound friends.  
July 12: Walking home from dinner with a friend. "The Luckiest" on my iPod. I am so lucky, today, for so many things.
